Gather together with like-minded people who enjoy nature and creativity at this monthly nature journaling walk. No art experience is necessary. You need something to draw on and draw with. Bring your favorite color tools along if you have them (colored pencils, watercolor, etc.) Learn as you observe nature and get drawing and art tips along the way. This is free for all ages and held outdoors. Meet in the upper parking lot at the Clubhouse.

**** Groundhog Day at Sweet Arrow Lake

Grover the Groundhog is still cozy and snoozing in his burrow but will emerge to announce his weather prediction at Sweet Arrow Lake County Park Clubhouse at 1:00pm on Sunday, February 2, 2025. Join Grover and his friends at the Clubhouse for the 19th Annual Groundhog Day Celebration at the lake and be part of the fun! The PA Dutch element associated with the traditions of the day will return this year. We are very pleased that Die Schwadore Shalle choir will join us to perform songs in Pennsylvania Dutch that you will recognize including the much loved, traditional repeating song “Schnitzelbank.” Our Chinese “Groundhog” Auction features many great items! The festivities are free and open to the public.
Wonderful good PA Dutch light refreshments will be available.

****This Bud is for You- Frog Hollow

Location: Meet at the Frog Hollow parking area on Stone Mountain Road outside of Friedensburg.
Can you identify trees and shrubs in the winter just by looking at their buds and bark? Service Forester Will Thomas will lead a walk through Frog Hollow to teach you this skill.
Trails can be a little rough and wet so wear sturdy shoes and dress for the weather.
